October News: Amanda in Mexico

Hola! I hope this newsletter finds you well! As we have entered November, the nights are becoming quite chilly, going down to +1 at times. October went by incredibly fast. As a school we had the opportunity to fundraise money for our school, working in the orchards for a day. The students really enjoyed themselves and I was so thankful this opportunity!

This past month we also wrote autobiographies, both students and teachers, so that you can get to know us better here at Oaks of Righteousness. I feel so blessed to work alongside our wonderful staff and to work with these beautiful students! Please click on the following links if you would like to read more about the staff and students at Oaks of Righteousness.

We also created a video about Oaks of Righteousness, in which we share the vision and needs for the ministry. You can watch it on the link below.

On a personal note, I want to  share about the young lady living with me. She was finding it harder to be far from home as well as to adjust to the structure / expectations of living here. It came down to decision whether she wanted to be here or not. This was a hard decision for both of us, and she decided to return to her home. I will miss her and I am so thankful for the time God allowed her to be in my home! I learnt so much, seeing God as my patient Father. This wonderful girl will always have a special place in my heart and I continue to pray for her as she returns home. A verse that helped me through this time is Philippians 4:6-7.

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. [7] Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

I truly got to experience His peace that passes all understanding. God is Good!

Praise and Prayer:

Praise God for his continued provision in the ministry!

Praise God for a bigger building we will be moving into in the near future. Our current building is quite crowded!

Praise God for our Director and staff in the ministry!

Pray that God would provide another van for the ministry. Once we move into the new building, we will have to transport 30 students to school. We currently only have one 15 passenger van.

Please pray for God’s provision in supporting the teachers, as they are not yet fully supported.

Please pray for opportunities to share with local churches and people about what God is doing  in the Tarahumara community so they too can get involved.

Thank you so much for your prayers and support, we are truly grateful for standing behind us in this ministry! God bless! Amanda.
