October Update

Kuira! I hope this newsletter finds you well. Thank you so much for all your prayers and support. It’s truly a blessing to be able to be here and to know that there is so many people standing behind us in prayer. Thank you!! God willing, one day we hope you will be able to come down and see the ministry and get to know these precious kids.
This past week we had 2 families come and spend a day with us. Both days were such a blessing! One day, a family came just to spend time with the kids. They built a robot mouse, baked cookies and played soccer. The other day another family came to work with the kids. They were able to fix quite a few things on the car that had needed fixing for quite some time now; cleaned out the chimney; baked cupcakes and made enchiladas for lunch. It is wonderful to have godly men invest in our boys, since we don’t have a male teacher to teach them. I love watching God provide in unexpected ways, and it brings me such peace knowing that He knows what the schools' needs and He will provide it in the best possible time.

Isaiah 43:4 Since you are precious and honored in my sight,
    and because I love you,
I will give people in exchange for you,
    nations in exchange for your life.
Do not be afraid, for I am with you;
    I will bring your children from the east
    and gather you from the west.
I will say to the north, ‘Give them up!’
    and to the south, ‘Do not hold them back.’
Bring my sons from afar

I would like to share this past Monday, one of our students had his first guitar class with his guitar teacher! He was so excited and encouraged. “Such a pleasant guy, isn’t he?” was the first thing that came out of his mouth as soon as the teacher left. We could tell he was very excited about this class, as he couldn’t stop talking about it the whole ride home. Honestly, he would never have imagined the opportunity to have a weekly evening class with his own teacher, and we just want to say a huge thank you! It is through your support that each student can have an opportunity to dream and pursue those dreams. Another student has just started training for a 42 km marathon in the mountains. She used to always go on and on about how she would love to run marathons. She LOVES to run. About 3 weeks ago, we began training every day and she is loving it. She has so many dreams of things she wants to do, but she didn’t really have much hope of pursuing them. Now, her training and the marathon in March, make it onto the morning prayers list every single day! Each one of these students is so talented, and this year we want to focus on helping the kids use those talents to honor God. Please keep our kids in your prayers, that each one of them can come to know Jesus personally, that they would find freedom in His Amazing Love.

My sister Pollyanna came in the month of October and took our students Horseback riding. She also took the time to teach the kids how to pluck ducks, to learn how to make feather pillows.
Lastly, I would like to share a praise item with you. A week ago, my sister Amelia was in a vehicle collision as she was taking people to church. It was a pretty serious crash, and I am so grateful for God’s protection over her and those in the vehicles. Amelia received some injuries on her spine, and has been going regularly to the Chiropractor to fix her back. Please keep her in your prayers as she continues to heal.
Thank you once again for everything! God bless!
