Kuira! I hope this email finds you well and that you had a wonderful Easter celebrating Jesus’ victory over death on the cross and through His resurrection. We are coming to the end of our 2-week Easter break and getting ready to go back to school.
The month of March went by quickly, as we were preparing to go into the Easter vacation. We had the opportunity to go to the Old Folks Homes again, both in the Mennonite and Mexican communities. Those are definitely proud teacher moments for me, as I watch them sing loudly and go greet each man and woman that comes to hear them. We also celebrated Easter with the students. We took time to break into prayer groups, read and discussed Jesus’ death and resurrection, painted some Easter eggs and hid the goody bags.
This past month I had the opportunity to go to Sonora over vacation. Sandra and Cande (our teachers at the school), along with their family, had saved up their money to go on a vacation to Guaymas, Sonora where Cande had been serving with the church before Christmas. The family had never been on a vacation before, never mind to the ocean, so it was so much fun to watch them experience all the “firsts”. They were shocked to see so much water in one place. We went to visit some missions, which too was new to their family. My favorite part was just seeing and hearing how genuinely grateful they were that they got to go and I pray Sandra and Cande’s family will also surrender their lives to Jesus. It is a huge blessing to see how God has changed that family since Sandra and Cande have accepted Christ as their Savior. Please pray for salvation for their family.
This past month I also finished the Bible School course on Forgiveness I had been taking. I was truly blessed by the things I learnt. I gained a better understanding of God’s forgiveness and grace. I am so thankful for the grace He shows me over and over again. I was reminded of how Awesome our God is, taking the most broken pieces of our lives to use it for His glory. Romans 8:28 “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
