May-June Newsletter

Hi, I hope you are doing well! I just got back from Canada. I was able to spend the past 6 weeks with the family and friends; a much needed and thoroughly enjoyed break. Time flew by and all I can say is I am so, so blessed to have so many wonderful people in my life to encourage and pray for me. Whether it was playing games, a meaningful conversation during a massage appointment, meeting supporters or the first time, or playing with my little niece or nephew, all these little moments meant so much to me. Thank you!! I loved sharing with you what the Lord has been doing here and I look forward to the next visit! Who knows, maybe it will be in Mexico!

At the beginning of May, the pruning season for the apple orchards started. Our students have been working hard in the orchards, as this is a time when everybody gets the opportunity  to work, no matter the age. Now the season has come to an end and we celebrated Sandra’s graduation this past Sunday. It was such a special event, seeing Sandra in Amelia’s grad dress, feeling like a princess! You can see more pictures on my Facebook page “Amanda Wiebe Missionary in Mexico”. Sandra has worked incredibly hard, working and studying at the same time. She has been making dresses on the side to raise money to go to YWAM in January, and we are so excited to see where God will lead her!! When asked what she wants to do now, she  says she wants to evangelize and tell people about Jesus. What an amazing young woman, and I have no doubt she is going to do BIG things for God!

Esther will be comimg down to serve with us in the ministry. She has a beautiful heart and we are so excited to see how God will use her here in Mexico! She will be starting a Telegram channel to keep people updated of what is happening here. To be a part of her journey, please feel free to join her telgram channel "Steps of Faith"
I am so excited to share with you that, this past month, a friend of Amelia’s felt the Lord calling her to come join the ministry. We are so excited about her joining the team and using her gifts to point the students to Jesus! Amelia and her will actually be taking over the school as I will be heading out into the mountains for a year. Honestly, she is such a  answer to prayer as in September,  friend of mine, Ana Cristina (who accepted Jesus as her Savior about 2 years ago)  asked me to train her to open her own ministry in the mountains. I am very excited for this new adventure, curious to see what God has in store for the village of Rosanachi. I am so excited to see God is opening doors for the gospel to be shared in the mountains, as there are so many unreached people who desperately need a Savior. I know this is just the beginning of reaching more people for Jesus, as I have already received several invitations from different communities in the mountains to  “come get to know their village”.  Please keep both ministries in your prayers.
Ana Cristina and her little girl, Melisa.
What a blessing to work alongside this amazing young lady and watch her grow in her faith and desire to further God's Kingdom!
Today I was reading in 1 Corinthians 9 and I was so encouraged by Paul’s attitude towards the people and his heart to reach people for Jesus. I pray this can be my mindset as I go into a completely new culture and learn to live amongst the Tarahumara people in the mountains. 1 Corinthians 9: 19 Though I am free and belong to no one, I have made myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible.20 To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law (though I myself am not under the law), so as to win those under the law. 21 To those not having the law I became like one not having the law (though I am not free from God’s law but am under Christ’s law), so as to win those not having the law. 22 To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some.23 I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings.
Lastly, I want to share tomorrow we are headed off to Monterrey on a 2 week missions trip with Discipleship International. I am so excited to see what the Lord wants to teach me there and I will be sharing that trip with you in my next newsletter! Please keep us in your prayers. God bless!! Amanda
